About
Our apartment is located on Stefana Batorego street in the center of Cracow, in a historic building from 1892.
In the end of XIX century it has been a home to a famous Polish artist and journalist Ignacy Sewer Maciejowski and a center of a Polish cultural life. Writers and artists were meeting here to discuss arts and politics, among them Adam Asnyk, Stanisław Wyspiański, Władysław Reymont, Tadeusz Miciński, Włodzimierz Tetmajer, Kazimierz Przerwa-Tetmajer, Jacek Malczewski, Leon Wyczółkowski and Artur Górski. This extremely hospitable house, led by Mrs. Marta Maciejowska, was described by Tadeusz Boy-Żeleński in his novel “You know this country? ( Znasz li ten kraj? )”.
